How to use the teleprompter

  1. Paste your script into the box. Blank lines become paragraph breaks.
  2. Set the text size so you can read it comfortably from where you will stand.
  3. Press Play (or Space). Adjust the speed with the arrow keys while you read — it changes instantly.
  4. Press F for fullscreen. Tick Mirror text if you use a glass teleprompter rig that reflects the screen.

Tips for reading naturally

  • Most people speak at 130–160 words per minute; start slow and speed up rather than chasing the text.
  • Keep your eyes near the guide line at the top third — it keeps your gaze close to the camera.
  • Write in short sentences and add blank lines where you want to pause.
  • Check your script length first with the speech time calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Can I control the teleprompter with a keyboard or remote?

Yes. Space toggles play/pause and the up/down arrows change speed. Many presentation clickers send arrow or page keys — Page Up/Down also change speed.

What is mirror mode for?

Hardware teleprompters reflect the screen in angled glass, which flips the text. Mirror mode flips it back so it reads correctly in the glass.
