Time Card Calculator
Fill in a week of shifts and get daily hours, weekly totals, overtime and pay.
How to fill in the time card
- Enter the in and out time for each day you worked, plus unpaid break minutes. Leave days off blank.
- Add your hourly rate to see gross pay. Hours past the overtime threshold (40 by default) are paid at the multiplier.
- Press Print time card for a clean paper or PDF copy. Your entries stay saved in this browser.
How the totals are calculated
Daily hours = out − in − break. Weekly hours = the sum of every day. Overtime = weekly hours − 40.
Example: five days of 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch = 8.5 h × 5 = 42.5 h → 40 regular + 2.5 overtime. At $20/hour: 40 × $20 + 2.5 × $30 = $875.00.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert time card minutes to decimal?
Divide the minutes by 60. 7 hours 20 minutes = 7 + 20/60 = 7.33 hours. The Decimal hours box does this for the whole week.
Does the calculator handle overnight shifts?
Yes. If the out time is earlier than the in time, the shift is treated as ending the next day.
Should breaks be subtracted?
Subtract unpaid breaks such as a 30-minute lunch. Short paid rest breaks normally stay in your hours — check your employer's policy and local law.
